Joining Team Continuum for the New York Half Marathon: one small step for me, one giant step for them!
Hi everyone!
I’ve embarked on a slightly crazy (and above all, slightly athletic!) adventure by joining Team Continuum for the New York half-marathon. Why this race? Well, because cancer, that scourge, can strike anyone, at any time… and no, it’s not just a misfortune that happens “to others”. Above all, it also strikes the most vulnerable: our children.
Children are the incarnation of joie de vivre, innocence and hope. But unfortunately, they are also the ones most affected by this disease. Every day, these little fighters face trials that no one should have to go through. But together, we can help them get through it. Together, we can offer them more than medication: we can offer them joy, comfort, and the chance to dream of a bright future.
By supporting my challenge, you’re not only supporting me (and believe me, a 13.1-mile (23km) half-marathon is no piece of cake!), you’re supporting these children and their families who face a daily life that’s often much more difficult than a simple run. The money raised helps fund medical care, respite for parents, and anything else that can help these children live better, smile and keep dreaming.
So, if you’re thinking, why donate?
Because with your donation, you’re not just financing my suffering over 13.1 miles (I’ll take care of that myself!), but you’re really helping children in their fight against cancer. Treatment, care, moments of respite for their families… In a word, you’re giving them a little hope, and me a little breath to get to the end without breaking down crying.
Please know that every little helps, every donation, no matter how small, makes a huge difference.
Cancer is an everyday fight, but together we can provide support, love and resources so that these children can focus on what’s really important: healing and smiling.
So, are you ready to join me on this adventure? Help change the lives of these children, while watching me suffer (a little) on the road to New York?
Thank you in advance for your generosity, your support, and above all… your encouragement! Because believe me, I’m going to need it when I’m running around trying to keep my breath (and my sense of fun!).
A BIG thank you!
Sincerely,
Aurora
P.S.: If you give me a push, I promise to run faster. Or at least, pretend I’m fast!
