Novice RunnersThe novice plan is aimed at those who are "in it to finish." You are just starting to run or have taken a break from running. You need to build up safely and correctly and are not concerned with your finishing time so much as with finishing, enjoying the experience and gaining new found fitness along the way.

Intermediate RunnersThe intermediate plan is aimed at those looking to take their running a bit more serious. You have a background in running or in sports and come into the preparation with some fitness. Perhaps this will be your 2nd or 3rd marathon and you want to improve your time.

Advanced/Elite RunnersThe advanced plan is for those looking to run hard over 26.2 miles. Athletes have a strong background in running or endurance sports and experience in longer events. Goals might include qualifying for Boston, or breaking 3 hours.
